buy me a plane ticket to Florida or California right now!!!!! I am done with winter. done. I'm tired of the hems of my jeans being sopping wet and slushy. I'm tired of dark gloomy days. I'm tired of walking around the house with a down comforter draped around my shoulders because I'm chronically cold even though the temperature is set at 72. And I think david is pretty sick of me sticking my freezing cold feet on him. I look at it this way- I'm cold. He's really warm. Once he feels my ice queen feet on his legs he will surely feel so bad for me when he realizes how much I'm suffering that he will let me do it. Or, he will be shocked into submission by their sheer coldness and will be unable to move. Like a stun gun. Unfortunately, neither of these hopeful outcomes is very reflective of reality. So anyways, I could really use a week's vacation in the sun. If not for my soul, at least for my poor, poor feet.

I am really sorry about your cold feet. It was almost 60 here is St Louis this morning and is supposed to be snowing by 5pm this afternoon. Talk about bizarre. Enough about that though....this little bug you shot here is so cute.

I don't think California would be the best choice either. I live in So Cal and it has been rainy and freezing for the past week and a half. I want my perfect sunny 72 degree weather back!!! I am sitting in my house working right now and I can't seem to get warm. Maybe we should all go to Hawaii or something!

Now wait a minute here, wasn't it you who said you almost had a panic attack from the humidity of Florida?? I think you should come to TEXAS! The weather has been perfect...a nice cool breeze, we're not even using our heater! :)

My friend recently showed me your photography site and I can't stop going to it. I teach school and I leave the music on all day and keep going back to see the colors of your pictures and how you capture such beautiful moments. I LOVE your work! I only wish I lived a little closer so I could hire you!!

I empathize with the coldness -- down comforter and ice cube feet are well-traveled ground for me as well. Have you ever thought of making one of those rice/bean bag things to keep your feet warm at night?
I found a cloth bag I had around the house, filled it with rice and beans (uncooked, of course), and sealed off the top of the bag. Then at night, I microwave that sucker for five minutes and keep it by my feet in bed. So easy! Of course, you could make it fancier by sewing a pretty fabric pouch or something, but I'm all about speed.

So sorry you are freezing. I'm from Florida, but spent the week in DC and I'm telling you I was one happy camper when I stepped off the plane in Tallahassee (north florida at that!) to 70 degree weather. Happy day, happy day!
Just think about how we'll be melting into a puddle on the steaming sidewalks by mid July. It might not be the best trade off!
